Survey - Client Satisfaction with Family Relationship (Dispute Resolution) Centres in Australia
The Federal Government has initiated an inquiry into the June 2006 changes to the Australian family law legislation, which saw the introduction of 'shared parental responsibility' enabling the court to consider shared and equal parenting time as a first option or substantial time. All court decisions remained subject to the “best interest of the child” criteria.
A significant part of the process was the introduction of the requirement for separating couples to seek to resolve their differences using a mediation (dispute resolution) process. The Government established 65 Family Relationship Centres, which have received significant funding. There are a number of other services providing private dispute resolution programs as well.
During the past 3 years, reports about the performance of the centres have varied significantly, as one might expect. However, in an attempt to qualify clients' opinions about these centres we have compiled a brief survey seeking to establish those areas where the centres perform well and those where some improvement may be possible and desirable.
The questionnaire is protected by a secure data service and any contact details collected only to validate the responses will be absolutely confidential and not supplied on to any other party whatsoever.
The Survey can be accessed via the following web address.

The questionnaire should take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Do not worry if you cannot complete the questions in one session, you can save the document and return to it when you have more time.
